Castles and Gardens of Germany and The Italian Alps

The Rhine River and Black Forest are two of the most beautiful regions of Germany. Not only does this tour include both of these districts, where fairytale castles seem to spring from every hilltop and stunning gardens spread out across the towns and valleys, as an added treat, the final days of the tour will find us traversing the Alps to end our tour in Stresa, Italy, on the spectacular shores of Lake Maggiore in the foothills of the Italian Alps!

Mid-September will find both the gardens and the native forests of Germany and Italy in their full autumn glory. Sights and activities will include a Rhine River cruise through the Lorelei Pass, Neuschwanstein (the castle that inspired Walt Disney), Linderhof Palace and its gardens, a visit to Oberammergau, Germany, the Borromean Islands (Isola Bella and Isola Madre) on Lake Maggiore, Villa Taranto, and much, much more! In addition, you will encounter the food, art, culture and traditions of two countries with rich and varied histories in a way that can only be experienced on a smaller group tour.

Included: Ground transportation by private coach, 10 nights’ hotel accommodations, daily breakfast, all entry fees for sites visited by the group, and additional meals as detailed in the final itinerary.

A fully detailed itinerary will be sent approximately 90-120 days before the trip. Visits to a minimum of two sites each day are guaranteed, except for days where free time for shopping or sightseeing on your own is built into either the morning or afternoon (usually two to three times per trip) or on longer travel days that are occasionally required for the group to reach another regional destination (traveling from Germany to Italy, for instance).

From March 15 to June 15, 2018, a 50% cancellation fee + a $500 service charge will apply to all monies received as of the date of cancellation.  After June 15, 2018, no refunds will be given.
